Introducing the 12 Dates of Christmas!

So … today is the end of Movember!  Single girls everywhere can breathe a sigh of relief that dates are no longer going to involve dubious facial hair, and hours spent wondering what the guy actually looks like underneath!

In celebration of clean shaven faces, and and the upcoming annual festivities, the 30 Dates Blog is proud to announce the ’12 Dates of Christmas’.

If you’re single, Winter can be one of the worst times of the year.  Christmas is a time when you most notice being single.  No one to spoil you with presents, no one to cuddle up to watching Christmas movies, or decorate a tree with.

It’s also one of the hardest times of the year to motivate yourself to head out dating after work.  With darkness falling earlier and earlier, it’s far too tempting to just curl up on the sofa and feel like the only single person in the world …

But there are lots of other single people out there this Christmas, and there are LOTS of fun Winter ideas you can use for dates.  Dating doesn’t just have to be a summer pass-time.

And yes, you could go explore Christmas markets on your own, or with friends, but you could also make them a really fun thing to do on a Date …

London is full of Winter-friendly dating ideas, and a load of unique events and activities that only pop up around this time of year.

So with that in mind, and with the help of my trusty band of Experimental Daters, I plan to carry out 12 Dates of Christmas between now and the end of the year …

And, of course, I’ll be telling you all about them!

But we don’t plan to be the only ones dating this Christmas!  If you’re not taking part already, the #WednesdayDatingClub runs every week – so if you’re single, GET INVOLVED.

1) Bag yourself a date – whether it’s asking out someone you know, sorting a blind date through friends, chatting to someone on a website, or swiping ‘Yes’ on Tinder.

2) Organise the date for a Wednesday, knowing hundreds of other singles around the globe are dating that night too – even if you’re the only singleton in your friendship group, you’re still part of a worldwide Dating Community

(And if you don’t believe Wednesday is the best day of the week for a first date, check out this recent article from the Sun!)

3) Share your dating story – whether it’s just tweeting us @30Dates with the hashtag #WednesdayDatingClub so we know you’re involved, or actually sending in a report of your date to thirtydates@hotmail.com

4) Enjoy! – Maybe you’ll meet the love of your life.  Maybe be awful.  But you’ll be out and about, have a story to tell either way, and I guarantee your evening will be more interesting than if you’d spent it on the sofa!

Still not inspired?

In that case it’s time for a Christmas song … and a very appropriate one, because it’s time we all became the Perfect Christmas Single!  Impossible to listen to this and not be inspired to get out and date! (I listened to it on repeat on my way to my date with Mr Mauve last night, and am now planning one of the Dates of Christmas to be at Christmas Cabaret with Frisky & Mannish of Scott Mills & The Pigs in Blankets fame!)

Here’s The Perfect Christmas Single – the official theme tune of the 30 Dates ’12 Dates of Christmas’
