Winter has well and truly set in … so it’s time for some warmer first date fashion options.  Whether you’re based in the UK, and off to a fireworks display, or over in the States, preparing to celebrate Thanksgiving, Sian has some perfect looks to keep you warm on those all important winter dates!

The Fireworks Date – Look Number One

While I am more of a summer person, I do love autumn/winter for fashion. Shopping for a winter coat is always a fun yearly event and this gorgeous waterfall coat from Next is an absolute steal at £65, which is why I bought it myself! It’s so comfortable, a great colour that goes with everything and super stylish. The burgundy of the knitted dress from Topshop is a great match with the coat, the warm tones will make you forget about the chilly weather and its a pretty alternative to jeans, while still being warm and cosy. Winter is also a great time of year for accessories and this gorgeous fur stole is the perfect piece to keep you warm and on trend. As much as I love a hat or a pair of ear muffs on a cold winter evening, you want to be able to hear your date talking and having to pick your hat up off the ground every time you look up at the fireworks isn’t ideal so go for a nice chunky scarf that you can pull up to your ears if you need to. There are some lovely boots around this season and when you’re wandering around outdoors it’s best to go for a flat pair of cosy boots that are going to keep your feet nice and warm. This pair from Pull & Bear at ASOS are perfect, they’re an easy colour to style, the gold adds a nice detail and the shine means they will be easy to wipe the mud off when you get home! Finish with a pair of fleece tights to keep your pins covered up and you’re good to go!!

When the weather is like this I’m all for comfort and there’s no reason you can’t look on trend while still being cosy! This jumper from Zara is a lovely soft shade that you can wear with anything, team it with heels and smart printed trousers for an evening out or with leggings and boots like this for an evening at the fireworks. The burgundy leggings add a warm tone to the outfit and knee high boots will keep you nice and toasty, you can add some chunky frill trimmed socks for cute extra insulation! Gilets are a great alternative to a coat and this faux fur number from Next is versatile and bang on trend. Lastly, I’ve accessorised with some stylish leather gloves and a simple necklace. I really like leather gloves and they’re just a bit smarter than the usual wool gloves, these are a great colour that nicely match the colour of the leggings. The necklace is a good way of adding a different element to all those winter textures and it’s not too flashy that it looks out of place at a fireworks display.
